We are having fun, every night we sleep for 12 hours, and Luke can't wait to go home.

Whenever we leave our room Luke says, "I want to go back, I want to stay here." When we get back to the room Luke says, "I want to go home." Last night he woke up crying in the middle of the night and all he would say, "I want to go home." Whenever we get in the car he asks if we are going to Jeannie's house or Grandma's house. This vacation has been really hard on him. He also has a cough that has hung on since last week when he had a fever. He tells us he has fun, and had a busy day, but ultimately he can't wait to go home.

Yesterday we were going out for lunch after spending two hours at the pool. Luke refused to go because he was sleeping. He turned over and said, "I sleeping" and two minutes later he was. If he wants us up he will tell us to wake up and if he wants to sleep he tells us to go sleep. He really is adorable!

Last night at the Luau we had a tram ride through the botanical gardens and then Luke chased birds, chickens, and peacocks for the next 45 minutes. A few peacocks were displaying their feathers so we got some awesome pics. Fortunately Luke is still 2 and we didn't have to pay for him at the Luau, he refused to eat anything and he only watched the first two numbers in the show.

Aloha from Hawaii!

We have had some interesting experiences already and our week has barely started.

We flew to Seattle Friday night and slept at the Marriott. Luke enjoyed his first flight until the descent. I was trying to help him pop his ears and the boy was not happy. I told him that chewing gum would help and I gave him a piece. He promptly stuck the gum in his left ear. Poor fella, he was in major discomfort and Christian and I were laughing. Next I gave him a bottle to suck on, which he did for about a second and then he stuck the bottle in his ear. I ended up blowing warm air in his ears until we landed and he finally said, "I feel better." The airport was not fantastic, up and down many elevators until we made it out to the shuttle. It was raining and we forgot to bring a jacket for Luke. Luckily we had both of his blankets. At the Marriott Christian and Luke went swimming and I had some nice relaxation time.

At 7:00 AM we ate breakfast and there was a nice variety. We had waffles, yogurt, fruit loops, bananas, blueberry muffins, and apple juice. The Seattle airport wasn't too bad. After check in we did have a long walk to the terminal but the wait was short. The plane was completely full so we were able to check our carryon suitcases and stroller and we didn't have to worry about them until our final destination. This proved to be a good and a bad thing.

Luke was not happy to be on another plane, he kept asking if we were going home. We rented a digiplayer and that entertained him for the first three hours. Then he fell asleep for the next three hours and slept through the landing. Luckily we didn't have to relive the ear incidence. That is where our luck ended..... Luke had completely wet through his diaper, clothes and blankets. We didn't have to worry about carrying our extra bags and that was a blessing but we also didn't have a change of clothes for him. The airport in Honolulu was crazy, too many people with nowhere to go. I bought a little hawaiian outfit for him and got him all cleaned up. At the gate he made some friends and they played cars until boarding time. Luke is such a sweet child. He plays well with anyone, copying what they do, sharing his toys, and calling them friend. We love him so much!

The trip to Kaua'i we short and sweet and we were finally done with airplanes and airports. The stroller got lost at baggage claim and we had to wait an extra 15 minutes for it. Two different bag boys helped us and got us to the rental car shuttle. Luke made more friends at the rental car place and got out some of his energy. Christian rented a Mustang convertible so we could remember the good old days before we had a baby.

Now that we had arrived and gotten a car I couldn't ignore how uncomfortable I was, it was so hot. Christian was wearing long pants and a long sleeved shirt. I was wearing my special pregnancy compression tights, long pants, and a short sleeved shirt. We all had sweat dripping down our faces and Luke's cheeks were bright red. I wanted to change Luke's diaper before driving to the hotel, and take off my tights so we left Christian and went to the restroom. This proved to be the worst decision ever. The bathroom didn't have a changing table or any counter, it was a large wheelchair accessible bathroom. I stripped off my tights and went to the bathroom first. I felt like I could finally breathe. I decided to change Luke's diaper before putting my pants back on. I flushed the toilet and started changing Luke's diaper. To my horror, the toilet started to overflow. I moved Luke closer to the door and realized that all of my stuff was in danger. I started moving it but the toilet was going to fast so I finished changing Luke got us standing but all of my stuff was now wet. My pants, tights, purse, and feet. The only thing I managed to save was the diaper bag, go figure. I couldn't send Luke out, the bathroom was not attached to anything and Christian was on the other side of the building. I didn't have any pants on so I wasn't about to go out. I tried calling Christian on his phone but it wasn't turned on yet. So I just waited for him to come find me and I let Luke play in the sink. After what seemed like forever, probably 10 minutes, Christian came to find us. Of course I burst out crying the second he got there, remember I am 7 months pregnant. He got my suitcase and started yelling at the rental car staff. I was so embarrassed. When I finally came out of the bathroom in clean clothes there were three employees trying to clean up the mess, the water went under the door and onto the sidewalk, and ask if I was okay. I just wanted to leave as quickly as possible.

An hour later we had checked into our room, taken showers, and jumped into the pool, safe at last.

Today we got to see our new baby! We had a second ultrasound to check everything out. The baby is growing right on schedule and estimated at 2 1/2 pounds. It was so exciting to see him moving around. We got to see the toes wiggle. We could also see his lungs moving, heart beating, and mouth opening. The picture you are seeing is his cute little profile and hand covering his face. I think he will look just like Luke, but I guess only time will tell.

When we talk to Luke about the baby he says, "I the baby." Then he will point to my stomach and say, "It's stuck, it's stuck." referring to the baby. I hope he will be ready when the baby actually arrives.

So I just realized that I haven't posted in over a year. Ha! That sounds just like me. Here is a quick overview of our family:

Dec 2009-June 2010

We lived at the DuPaix home in Sandy, I worked part time teaching dance at KJH and Christian took the Utah State Bar again in February. He didn't pass, so I decided to go back to work full

time for the next school year. We moved out of the parent's house so that Christian would have room for his internet business and all the toys that Luke seems to have.

June 2010-August 2010

My parents bought the house on Sunflower and we moved in. Christian prepared to take the Bar again in July, and we both worked part time for Culinary Crafts. I started taking part in more dance workshops but found out I was pregnant and at risk so I had to stop. Unfortunately we l

ost the baby the end of July.

We built a swing set in the backyard. Luke was lots of help as you can see!

Sept 2010-Dec 2010

School started and I taught 7th grade English and Dance. We found out that Christian passed the Bar in September and had a BBQ. Our friends and neighbors came and celebrated with us. In October we found out that I was pregnant again and the Dr. had us take many precautions. The first trimester I was exhausted, constantly vomiting, and not allowed to exercise, vacuum, do laundry, or anything else strenuous. Christian constantly took care of Luke, the house, and me. Christian officially became a lawyer on October 13 and has been looking for a job since. There really is a recession and no one is hiring lawyers with less than 5 years experience.

Dec 2010 to Feb 2011

The school year has been flying by and I can't believe it is 3/4 over. The second trimester has been progressing well and the new baby boy is due June 18. The Dr. believes he will arrive early

because of my history, so we are hoping for anytime after May 18 because that is when my spring concert is. I am taking special progesterone injections that are awful, but are supposed to prolong the length of the pregnancy. Sarah and John were married In February and we are glad to have John in the family. For the first time in over a year we had the entire family together. Angi and Kyle came down from Canada, and Meri and Shane came up from Arizona. It was a blast. Joe and Monica moved back from Maryland just in time for the wedding and we love having so much family so close.

March 1, 2011

Luke and Christian both have the flu and poor Christian has been in bed for a week. Luke has 3 cousins around his age, Ethan 3 1/2, Jud 2 5/6, and Cooper 2 1/2. When they get together at Grandma's there is a lot of screaming and running. So fun.

In April we are taking a family vacation to Hawaii over spring break. I planned and booked this trip in August after the miscarriage to help me through the school year. I can't wait to go but I wish it had already happened so we wouldn't have to worry about the new baby arriving early. I have an extra ultrasound scheduled for March 17 and then I will have an appointment the week of the trip so the Dr. can clear me to fly. Normally traveling at 30 weeks isn't a problem but we just have to take extra precautions.

Luke is just so adorable and talking up a storm. He can count up to 10, say the alphabet, and loves Mommy and Daddy. His favorite shows are Rugrats, Chuggington, Thomas the Train, andTimmy Time. He spends hours playing with his train tracks and cars, and loves to go to Grandma's house and play with her cars. He is not ready for a baby brother yet, when we talk about the baby he says, "It's stuck." and "I the baby!" Hopefully he has at least two more months to get used to the idea. We are still open to name ideas for our new little one so if you want to suggest we will consider.

We had a little Halloween scare October 29/30. Christian thought he was passing a kidney stone so I made him go to the ER at 1:30 AM. He has some kind of infection but no new kidney stones thank goodness. He was sick all weekend so we missed out on the Bjarnson Halloween party :( We did take Luke to a few of the neighbors houses but he did not seem to like taking candy from them.

So I was just typing away looking at my fingers and then I looked up and the screen was still blank because I hadn't clicked the mouse in the message area. I guess that is what I get for looking at my hands. Let's go back to typing the correct way and just fix the typos later. Anyways.... back to life. Christian is always on the computer dealing with his cute little business and I am always doing something for school, always, even though I only work part time I worry about it full time. I am currently preparing for my dance concert which will be December 1 and 2 at 7:00. Everyone is invited and a $2 donation per person would be appreciated but is not required.

Alright! I realized I have not posted since last December and I realize how quickly time flies. Here is the update on Luke: 30 lbs, devious little trickster, running fast, and still loves to feed himself (this kid can out eat everyone at the table). I am teaching dance part time at KJH and love spending time with my family. We put our home up for sale in August and received an offer the first day. We were not expecting to sell so quickly but are thankful for the blessing. We have moved in with my parents and Luke loves all the attention. Christian is selling M&M's online and has converted the garage into a storage/work room. In May Christian graduated from the U of U's law school. He didn't pass the bar in July; he got a 263 and just missed the 270 cut off. He will be retaking it in February and we know he won't have a problem passing it now that he knows what to expect. Last week we took the week of and went to Las Vegas. It is wonderful to spend time together after the three stressful years of law school. So now that I only work part time I will try and be diligent about posting information. Ha ha we will see.

Luke is huge now! He is 7 months and over 20 lbs.

Luke loves to feed himself. I have learned to feed him with three spoons; one for each of his hands and one for me.

Christian wrapped garland up the entire staircase and put ornaments on it. Our house was decorated for Christmas before Thanksgiving. We have cute little M&M candy houses all over.

LUKE

Since luke surprised us in May we have been trying to get his room ready. Converting the space from an office to a nursery has been a big job. Christian has gotten rid of all extra computer pieces, desks, and chairs. Some people know that I have had a love affair with M&M's since my mid teens. Lets just say that Christian embraced this idea in it's entirety and we have been creating Luke's room around the idea since.

Luke was blessed July 6th. After the blessing we had a waffle brunch at the DuPaix's house. Stephanie Doyle held Luke for 45 minutes. They were both content.

Christian and Luke took a nap on the couch. Attending church at 9 am just seems so early!

Both Grandparents were there for the occasion.

Little Luke is now five weeks old and weighs just over 7 pounds! He is a lazy eater and it is a challenge to get lots of food into him. He is a sweet and beautiful baby and we feel so lucky to have him. He looks like a miniature Christian and has his adorable dimples.

Grandma Edie has been helping us daily! I am attending a two week dance workshop with RDT and Christian is always at his internship. We take Luke to Grandma's in the morning and she gets to enjoy his company for at least 5 hours, usually more because I am to exhausted to drive home right away. We couldn't function without her.

In addition to work and dance we have been working on our house. We moved everything from the office into the kitchen and front room so the house is a disaster but Luke's room is almost done. We need to do the finishing touches and then we will publish the pictures of it. Brent has helped us replace our toilets and put on screen doors. Our goal is to finish redoing the bottom bathroom this summer so our home transformation will be complete.

Luke is 3 weeks old now and keeping me awake at night. We take longs naps during the day and eat a lot! On Wednesday Lori Lee cut 12 inches off my hair. I feel like a completely different person. Yesterday was my birthday and I am now 28. Grandma Edie joined us for Luke's appointment. He is now 5 lbs 15 ounces again. It only took him 3 weeks to make it back to his birth weight. UGH!! We have another appointment next week to see if he is gaining weight any faster. Cross your fingers for us.

After the doctor appointment we went shopping and bought bedding for Luke's crib. Then Jeannie and Raili joined us for lunch at Ihop. After my 4 hour nap Christian and I went to dinner at Mimi's Cafe. We stopped back at Grandma Edie's for cake and ice cream before heading off to see Indiana Jones. It was a fun day.

We hung out at the DuPaix's on Christmas day. All of Debbie's family was in town and it was nice to see everyone. Unfortunately we got sick that day and did not make it to the Bjarnson's because we were so sick! We heard that today all the DuPaix's are sick now!
